Before you plan a trip to Las Vegas or Atlantic City or going on a cruise with legalized Gambling, certain things you must know of, and the most important one being How To Win. Gamble is all about taking a calculated risk, using your skills combined with a strategy and finally one thing that all of us want, Luck.

The first and the foremost thing, quite undeniably is how to play the game. One should know the intricacies of the game, like how the bets are made, rules and winning odds. Watching a couple of games could be a good exercise too, watching the player’s moves and those of the dealers also. What makes a good gambler? The question has been around for years. Skills needed in the games are different, while slot machines are popular for requiring absolutely no sills, yet some strategies can help you in deciding as to which games to play and how much to bet.

A bit more sill is however required for the card games such as poker and blackjack. Poker face is another ever necessary that that helps keep your opponent from calling your bluff. Probabilities and statistics do play a role and knowledge of the two can help you decide, whether or not to hit on a 12 in blackjack.

However games like lottery, scratch cards and keno, according to Lenny Frome, which require absolutely no strategizing. Just pick the right numbers and you and carry home wads of cash. Two types of betting quite similar to each other are horse betting and sports betting. These bets are possible on a variety of scales. You may bet with a friend, an office pool, or the majestic scale of the Las vegan sports betting area.

Irrespective of whether particular games have the potential to use strategizing or skill, all gamblers believe or want to, that they are in control of the game and in some cases they really do. You can be on your way of becoming a better gambler by familiarizing yourself with the games and the statistics involved.

Amongst Gamblers the most popular games are poker, blackjack, horseracing, slots, roulette, baccarat, craps, keno and lottery.

While poker and blackjack are popular card games which require skills and strategies, slots are pure luck. Games of lottery and keno are also more about luck then skills.

Games like Poker attract large numbers of people to the casinos every year. Mastering this game is all about knowing the game n and out; building relationship between players and understanding that you loosing are your major fault and the dealer can’t do much to get you on the winning track. Blackjack is another majorly loved game, and a good knowledge of probability along with risk taking capacity can make you into a real winner.

Game of Keno, which is slightly complex and in many ways matches Lottery, is often described as a game of pure luck. Originated in China the game traveled to America ion the 1800’s. However, there are some mathematically complex statistics to your aid, but they are as mentioned “too complex” leaving it surely as a game of Luck.

Here’s some very basic terminology, relating to Texas Hold’em betting strategy. The most common type of betting in Texas Hold’em is a fixed limit. In a fixed limit game, there are two betting amounts. The low and the high. We’ll use a $5-$10 Texas Hold’em table as an example. For the first few rounds each bet must be in increments of $5.00. For example if the bet is at $10, you can only call or raise it to $15.00. Then depending on the game, at some point, the betting limit doubles, all bets would then be made at $10.00 increments.

The basic Texas Hold’em betting strategy in this game is to concentrate on what you think the other players hand are based upon any clues you have. Remember, in betting the most important is to understand your opponents and bet accordingly without the other players at your table being able to predict your next Texas Hold’em betting strategy.

In the above scenario, most casinos will limit the number of raises in a single round to three or four. The number of raises in a single betting round should also be carefully evaluated into establishing your Texas Hold’em betting strategy.

As you probably already know a check is as bet of nothing. It allows you to stay in the game without increasing your bet. If no bets have been made during the round and it is your turn to bet you can check (bet nothing) and pass to the next player. Once you become more comfortable playing, a round including checks can be a golden opportunity to employ Texas Hold’em betting strategy. Of course you’ll need to evaluate the likelihood of your hand carefully and your opponenets. But this can be a winning opportunity.

In the instance above, the opportunity to bluff may enter your mind. A word of caution about using a bluff - A bluff works best when no one is expecting it. If your play is conservative, most people won’t expect you to bluff. Using a bluff occasionally, when it’s least expected is a good Texas Hold’em betting strategy. Another consideration in learning Texas Hold’em betting strategy is that if you never bluff your opponents will know you have a good hand when your bets are aggressive, thus they will fold.

Texas Hold’em is a game of chance, but learning effective Texas Hold’em, betting strategy can improve your chances greatly. The more experience you get, the better your strategy should become. Bad Christmas for Gizmo Freaks

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

Microsoft’s much hyped ‘next generation’ media player, Zune, will not be launched in non-US markets. Now that’s mysterious since the hype that has been created around Zune as a potential threat to Apple iPod’s numero uno position will loose steam.

Apple is dictating this segment of market for long for but Microsoft was considered as a genuine threat to its supremacy but now this news has played the role of a dampener in the festive season. This coincides with the delay in Europe launch of PlayStation 3.

British love for gadgets can be gauged from the fact that over 60% of Brits spend £5,000 a year on gadgets and consumer technology, states a research by online tech vendor ‘Best of Stuff’ and the same survey stated that almost 44% UK resident own up to 15 gadgets each!

With both the tech biggies ditching their loyal buyers in the region, the backlash is imminent but two entities that won’t be complaining are Nintendo and Apple. Nintendo’s Wii gaming console will get a head start in Europe, whereas Apple will be able to fortify its current top spot.

The people although will miss the ‘novelty’ factor this Christmas, as they will have to settle for the mundane and there won’t be anything to spruce up their Christmas.

Billiard Games: Poker Pocket and Six Ball

Tuesday, March 28th, 2006

Poker Pocket: it combines the skill and talent of billiards with the intrigue and skill of poker. If the total ball number is 15 on the billiards table, then poker pocket is played with one more ball than extra which totals. Each four balls are to be labeled with a J for Jack, another four with K for King, A for Ace, and the last four ones with Q for queen. The objective is simple, played by maximum three opponents, it is required that you make a better poker hand for yourself than your opponents.

Each player may pocket up to five balls for one inning or frame and after doing so is done with his or her hand of poker. Any legally pocketed balls are given credit to the player doing the opening break, and after that it continues until the player has pocketed five balls. Just like in the popular card game in that the best hand is four of a kind, then its a full house, three of a kind, two pairs, a straight, or a simple basic pare, here, the object is to have the best hand.

Six ball: is much like the object of rotation in that every legal shot, and it must first contact the lowest numbered ball on the table before it pockets any other ball. As long as the six ball is placed directly in the middle, the rack is simply just six balls in any random order. When scoring is concerned, the balls have absolutely no point value, and the only object of the game is to pocket the number six ball.

The game is over and a new game must be started if in the opening shot, the player makes contact with the one ball first and then contacts the six ball. As long as the player legally pockets the ball, the shooter can stay at the table, similar to other games of rotation. To players looking for a quick and easy game without the concern of the game dragging on four hours, this game is very attractive.

So, the next time you come out of your local pool hall or complete your billiards tournament inside the old bowling alley, do not forget the long history of billiards. Do not forget that the game you already won has added to the well-known history of billiards, or that the contest you just lost was lost long ago by much much more masterly people than you. Presidents and Kings have lost and won at billiards just like you or me, although they likely did not drown their pity in a cheap beer with a big basket of mozzarella sticks.

Soccer Betting Secrets Rule No.2 - Bet on what you know

Saturday, March 25th, 2006

It is hard enough working out who will win a football match without complicating things still further by betting on an a game when you know nothing about the teams or the league. Don’t be tempted to place large amounts of money or even a little amount on an obscure match in the Chilean or Brazilian League just because you read one article on it. Most articles don’t reveal all information about the game. So you need to do your homework finding and gathering as much information from reliable sources

If you consider the people involved ( the players, the referees, the managers) that means more than 30 variables (with substitutes). That doesn’t even include variables like the state of the pitch, international call-ups, long-term injuries, financial implications, transfers, legal and disciplinary procedures and many more.

South American games seem exciting - until the bet loses. And when you find out (after the match) that a star forward was on international duty or great defender was out injured then you’ll feel stupid. The bookmakers knew about this - that’s why they set that tempting price.

You should put away your feeling about your favorite team when betting on soccer. As an avid punter, what important most is about winning money. You must not take sides on your favorite team simply because you will end up putting bets on their side just because they are your favorite team. This will not work in the long run when it comes to making money from soccer betting. This is one secret that is all the while out there that new punters just overlooked.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Friday, March 24th, 2006

Miller Park

The Philadelphia Phillies ended their longest winning streak since a 13 game streak in 1991. Glavine pitched seven strong innings and drove in a pair of runs to help the New York Mets beat Philadelphia 13-4 Wednesday night, snapping the Phillies nine-game winning streak.

It had been quite a turnaround for the Phillies, who opened 1-6 and finished 10-14 in April. The winning streak began on April 30 with a 5-1 victory in Pittsburgh that avoided a three-game sweep against the woeful Pirates.

“We just have to throw this one out the window and bounce back tomorrow,” Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said.

In other news Cole Hamels is no longer only in Philadelphia’s future plans. The Phillies will call up the 22-year-old Hamels, their first-round pick in 2002, to make his major league debut Friday against the Cincinnati Reds and the Phillies hope this new prospect will help them to get a place in the playoffs.

Lineup

Jimmy Rollins, SS. 2.Chase Utley, 2nd B. 3. Aaron Rowand, CF. 4.Bobby Abreu, RF. 5.Pat Burrell, LF. 6. Ryan Howard, 1st B. 7. David Bell, 3rd B. 8. Carlos Joaquin Ruiz, C. 9.Cory Lidle, P.

Milwaukee didn’t have a good time against the Padres last week. Losing on Wednesday night 3-0 in a game that was completely dominated by Chan Ho Park who didn’t allowed any runs in the 6 innings he pitched.

Park credited outfielders Mike Cameron and Brian Giles for making great catches. “And also, I had a good catcher back there calling the right pitches, so that helps and makes me more comfortable and confident,” Park said.

The Brewers that have a 17-17 record were playing really good baseball up until they faced the Padres, which outplay them in two of the three games of the series. The Brewers had a phenomenal season start but lately they’re in a hole and might get down the .500 average.

Milwaukee will face this week against Philadelphia in a series that will be very exciting, since both teams need to win. Expect nothing but great baseball games between these two in this series. If you like sports’ betting this is a great opportunity to give more emotion to the All-American sport by making some bets on the series.

Lineup

Rickie Weeks, 2nd B. 2. Bill Hall, SS. 3.Geoff Jenkins, RF. 4.Carlos Lee, LF. 5. Prince Fielder, 1st B. 6. Corey Koskie, 3rd B. 7. Damian Miller, C. 8.Brady Clark, CF. 9.Chris Capuano, P.

Casinos Italiani

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

When most people think of Italy, they think of the food, the art museums, or the ancient Roman culture. What most people don’t know about Italy is that it can be a great destination for people who want to include some gambling on their vacation. Although Italy doesn’t have many casinos, the places they do have are well worth the visit for tourists who want to experience something a little different than what they expected on a trip to Italy.

While there are only a handful of casinos in Italy, visiting one of them is well worth the trip. There are two distinctive sides to gambling in Italy. One is very much like the American version, casual clothes and lots of slot machines. On the other hand, many Italian casinos have what is called the “French Games” section. Even in the more casual Italian casino, the Casino Municipale di Campione d’ Italia in Campione d’ Italia, part of the casino has a dress code as well as an entrance fee (about $12.50 US). The other Italian casinos, including Casino De La Vallee in Saint Vincent (near Turin), Casino Municipale di Sanremo in San Remo (near Nice, France), and the Casino Municipale di Venezia in Venice, don’t allow people in street or casual clothing and all charge some type of entrance fee. Indeed, Italian casinos epitomize the glamorous image of European gambling made famous in James Bond movies.

All of the cities mentioned only have one casino except for Venice. The Venice casino is interesting because it is really one casino split in two, one which is open in the summer and the other that is open in the winter months. Also a little bit different is that the Casino Municipale di Venezia also offers gin rummy tournaments in addition to the gambling.

Besides the dress codes and the entrance fees, there are other things to be aware of before you plan a trip to an Italian casino. The first thing is that in all of Italy’s casinos, the language spoken is Italian. If you are planning on spending any time in casinos, you should, at the very least, learn some Italian phrases and other gambling vocabulary. Also, the gambling age in Italy is 18 so students and younger people who may not be allowed to gamble in the USA, where the legal age is 21, are permitted to do so in Italy. In addition to gambling, Italian casinos feature live music and entertainment as well as restaurants and nightclubs. One thing Italian casinos do not have, however, are hotel rooms, so lodging arrangements need to be made separately.

Online Casinos Find New Ways to Communicate

Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006

The online casino industry has evolved to keep up with the demands of an ever-changing gambling public which is becoming even more technologically advanced. New trends affect the way people want to gamble and this in turn requires online casinos to initiate changes to improve the player’s experience.

One of the ways that casinos have tried to re-invent themselves in is with regard to communication with new and existing players. These days players are rewarded for just receiving a little downloadable message service that serves as a personal assistant when you’re online. This is a computer application called a ‘Personal Messenger’ and it updates players when there are new promotions, news and events occurring at their favorite casinos.

Some of the clever features that the Fortune Lounge Personal Messenger has, which we’ve been monitoring for a period of time now, are listed below:

• You can now check your casino account balance.

• Contact the Fortune Lounge support team - live chat, email, and call-back & call centre numbers.

• Link directly to the Fortune Lounge Players Club, review your points balance and redeem your loyalty bonuses.

• Use the quick-link buttons to review the Fortune Lounge winners’ wall and to keep up to date with all the latest Fortune Lounge news.

• The Personal Messenger has been redesigned to make messages easier to read. You are now also able to delete your read messages.

Another innovation in the market has been embraced by Titan Poker who is hosted on the Playtech software network. Titan Poker has a live download function that automatically starts up when a player enters the poker room’s banking pages. This means that players have 24/7 live assistance while making purchases online, and this make the process a whole lot simpler and safer too.

The Personal Messenger is a new nifty application that replaces much of the electronic mail (email) communication that online casinos have had to rely on to get their important messages across to their discerning playing public. This relieves some of the SPAM concerns that casinos face when relaying their messages to their customers. Casinos for a while now have had to face the onslaught of anti-SPAM firms who blacklist them on the Net if they are reported to have sent unsolicited emails to undesirable recipients.

Enter the new Personal Messenger and the rest is history, and the best part of this unique tool is that it will always be right there on your desktop. It does not take up much space within your program files either. The Fortune Lounge Personal Messenger needs a mere megabyte to install and that beats having to go into the casino software to request information that you should, essentially have at your fingertips.

These new progressions have led to a new era in the industry where players are being consulted more and more to advance this ever-growing industry. This means that if there was ever an industry that has been setting trends with regard to customer service and player satisfaction, the online gambling industry would be at the forefront of these incremental changes, and would definitely have a thing or two top teach other market in the corporate playing field.
