NBA Fullcourt Report (Jan. 4, 2007)

Monday, April 30th, 2007

There are three NBA games on the board for Thursday night. The Pistons and Hornets are both battling key injuries and will play tonights game without their starting point guards, while the Pacers will try to stop the Mavericks 11-game SU winning streak. Finally, the late-night TNT game pits a critical division battle between the Lakers and Kings.

Below is a look at all three NBA matchups for tonight.

DETROIT (-7, 177) at NEW ORLEANS (TNT)

The Pistons finished December on a 0-4 ATS run, including three SU losses in a row. The Pistons received further bad news when starting point guard Chauncey Billups was injured late in the 93-92 home loss versus Indiana on December 29th is out for at least another week with a calf injury. Billups leads the team in assists (8.1 apg) and steals (1.3 spg) and is second in scoring (18.0 ppg).

The Hornets 8-3 SU start to the season is a distant memory compared to their 4-16 SU mark since November 22nd. The fall coincided with numerous injuries and the Hornets are still without their top three scorers as Chris Paul (18.4 ppg), Peja Stojakovic (17.8 ppg) and David West (17.4 ppg) are each out for at least another month. The Hornets are also without Bobby Jackson (10.9 ppg) who hopes to return next week from a rib injury.

INDIANA at DALLAS (-8, 190)

The Mavericks remain the hottest team in the league and enter tonight with an 11-game SU winning streak. Despite the recent success, Dallas is only 4-5-2 ATS during this current streak. The Mavericks have been without Jerry Stackhouse who is fourth on the team in scoring (11.3 ppg).for the past six games due to an ankle injury.

Indiana is also in solid current form with a 6-3 SU/ATS record during the past three weeks and they should be well rested after a four-day layoff since their 113-102 upset loss at Charlotte last Saturday. The Pacers were in a difficult scheduling situation as they had just upset the Pistons the night before and then had to travel without rest and play their third game in four nights.

L.A. LAKERS at SACRAMENTO (-4, 207) (TNT)

Despite being without second leading scorer Lamar Odom for the past eleven games, the Lakers are still a solid 8-3 ATS. Los Angeles returned from their season-high six game road trip with an easy 104-94 home win versus Philadelphia last Sunday. The game was not as close as the final score indicated as the Lakers led by 15 points entering the fourth quarter.

The Kings are also in solid current form and enter this game on a 4-1 SU/ATS run, including back-to-back home wins versus Golden State and New York. Sacramento is finally healthy as Ron Artest has played in the past four games and scored a season-high 39 points in 43 minutes on Tuesday.

How To Make Big Money With Sports Betting -Fresno State vs Boise State

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

Have you ever wondered how the sports betting “smart money” became the smart money? Do you wonder what the football betting smart money does differently than the amateurs?

To get an idea how a professional sports handicapper analyzes a game, let’s take a look at the analysis I did for my clients for the Fresno St. vs. Boise St. game: Fresno St. at Boise St. -23

The line on this game is “only” 23 because of Fresno St. past reputation as a half-decent team. This Fresno St. team is terrible, going 1-6 SU so far this season. More importantly, Boise St. is playing at home, and Boise St. is ranked 14th in the nation for good reason. They are unstoppable on offense, especially playing at home.

Here’s a scary stat for you to think about…

Boise St. is averaging 40 points per game this season, and Fresno St.’s defense is giving up on average a total of 32 points per game. In their last two games, Fresno St. has given up an average of 56 points per game.

Meanwhile, Boise St. has only scored under 36 points once all season. Boise St. has scored over 40 points in 6 games. Boise St. has averaged 46 points per game in their last three home games, and has average beating the spread by a full 7 points in their last three home games, even though they were favored by an average of 20 points per game. At the same time, Fresno St. has averaged about 13 points per game in their last three road games, scoring only 6, 12, and 20 points.

What this adds up to is a game in which you can expect Boise St. to score at least in the mid-40’s, and Fresno St. to score 20 points if they have a great game. In other words, if Boise St. just plays their average game, and Fresno St. plays a great game, the final score should fall near the line of 23. Here’s another way to look at it. Sometimes viewing games as a grid of possible outcomes, it becomes easier to see the high percentage play.

Here’s a table of possible results showing likely scores depending on whether or not each team has a “good” or “bad” game:

Boise St. Fresno St. Possible Final Score

Average Game Average Game 46-14

Bad game Bad game 36-10

Good game Good game 55-26

Bad game Good game 36-26

Good game Bad game 55-10

As you can see, there is only one scenario where Fresno St. has a chance to cover. That’s if they have a good game, and Boise St. has a bad game. All other scenarios point to Boise St. covering the 23 points. I.e., if Boise St. has a good game, Fresno St. has no chance to cover. Likewise, if Fresno St. has a bad game, they have no chance to cover.

Of course the models we use to determine the “possible” scores are proprietary statistical models that use weighted factors. It’s the same type of analysis used by financial traders to calculate probabilities. Keep in mind, we’re only playing probabilities, and even when the odds are in your favor, you can still lose. That’s why it’s important to manage risk by staying disciplined with your bet size.

Bottom line, Boise St. is likely to run up the score tonight and win going away, 52-17.

The actual final score was Boise St. 45, Fresno St. 21. Boise St. covered the spread by 1 point. However, what you don’t realize by just seeing the score is that Fresno St. was only able to make it close by returning an interception for a touchdown.

In other words, the game analysis was exactly right. Fresno St. had a “good” game and still couldn’t cover the 23 point spread. By repeating this type of analysis over and over, somebody serious about sports betting can make big money!

Switching From Home Based Texas Holdem to Online Texas Holdem

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

Online Texas Hold’em has taken the world by storm in the past few years. In case you’ve been left behind, we are going to get you caught up to speed with the world of online texas hold’em poker. I’m going to assume that you have a working knowledge of the game of texas holdem and only talk about the differences between online and offline texas holdem.

There are several major differences between online texas holdem and the texas holdem you’ve played for years at your friends house. First of all, there are no tells in online poker. Secondly, the software interface is one of the most important things in online poker. And lastly, you can always find an online game.

What happened to all of the tells?

There are lots of people that will tell you that there are still tells in online poker. I don’t believe this one bit. They will say that if someone bets quick or slow, you will be able to get a feel for their play. Well, what about internet connections? If someone has a slow connection, they will play intermittently. In other words, sometimes bet slow and sometimes bet quickly. This just isn’t reliable enough, so there are no tells in online texas holdem.

Software interface, the most important thing

The software interface allows you to do, and not do, everything at the poker table. This can be a good thing and a bad thing. For one, you are limited to the confines of the poker software. You are only allowed to do whatever the software programmers have allowed you to do. Fortunatly, there are some really good programs out there and everything is there except the feel of the felt and the chips in your hand.

A big advantage of online poker over at home poker is, there is never any mistake over who won the pot. Have you ever miscalled a hand and lost because of it? Well, that will never happen in online poker.

There is always a game online

Unlike your buddies house, there is always a game that you can play from the convenience of your own home. Just log on to your favorite online poker room and you will see tens of thousands of people online playing at thousands on tables.

Carling Cup Third Round vs Millwall (h) – lost 3-2.

Football League Trophy Northern Section First Round vs Hereford Utd (h) – lost 1-0.

Top Goal Scorer 2005/06: Ritchie Barker (striker) – 23 goals.

Jason Talbot (Port Vale – Free), Adam Rundle (Rochdale – Free), Fraser McLachlan (Morecambe – Free), Rhys Day (Aldershot – Free), Gus Uhlenbeek (Released), Allan Russell (Released), Kevin Pressman (Released), Kyle Jacobs (Released).

Mansfield Town have had a couple of disappointing seasons in League Two following their play off final defeat against Huddersfield Town at the end of the 2003/04 campaign. Peter Shirtliff’s side finished a lowly sixteenth last season and he has responded by shipping out eight of his underachieving squad.

One of the only bright points of an otherwise below par campaign was the emergence of Ritchie Barker as a 20 plus goal a season striker. The 31 year old forward netted 23 league and up goals last term following far less prolific stints at former clubs Rotherham United, Macclesfield Town, Brighton & Hove Albion and Sheffield Wednesday.

With so many players released, Shirtliff began the rebuilding process by recruiting Stockport County captain Matthew Hamshaw on a two year contract. Hamshaw spent 12 months at the Hatters following five years at Sheffield Wednesday where he was a first team regular. He made almost 90 appearances since making his debut in August 1998.

Shirtliff is also keen to run the rule over young Manchester City defender Paul Collins during pre season following his release from the City of Manchester Stadium. Collins was noticed playing in the same youth team as Jonathan D’Laryea who joined Mansfield for a nominal fee at the end of January.

Striker Chris Beardsley wants to repay the club’s faith in him after he was offered a new one-year deal after he missed nearly all of the 2005/06 season with an oblique fracture of his left leg.

Verdict

It is always difficult to predict how well a new team will fair but Mansfield will need to keep hold of Ritchie Barker following a prolific 2005/06 campaign. Better than sixteenth is expected but another mid table finish could be on the cards.

Bears-Rams Monday Night Football Notes

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

The 10-2 Bears head to the St. Louis to take on the 5-7 Rams. One would think that there wouldnt be too much more to say about this game, maybe just some talk of the Bears defense versus the Rams offense. But this matchup has most of its focus on the quarterback position because Rex Grossman finished last weeks game with a quarterback rating lower than a pre-election interest rate and Marc Bulger called out his teammates saying that they didnt care about winning.

Bulger obviously wasnt thinking at the time that making such statements could make himself subject to higher scrutiny from his teammates and the media if he cant perform up to standards this week. I maybe would have saved those comments for next weeks visit to Oakland. Its apparent that hes put himself in a do or die situation which reflects the Rams playoff hopes. Perhaps, Bulger thought that if the Rams were going to have a shot at the Bears this week and to stay in the playoff picture, he would have to go to drastic measures-ballsy move for a normally soft spoken quarterback. My opinion is that he wasnt thinking. This guy is a football player, not a chess master. Frustration takes another in-house issue and puts it firmly in the medias grasp.

If Grossman even starts off this game with an incompletion he will be booed. If he throws an early interception, Bears faithful will be dialing the mob to take him out. I wonder if they have ever stopped to realize that they could be making things worse for this guy. I know we think that these guys are getting paid millions of dollars so they can deal with the heat. But its tough to throw completions with the entire largest city in the Midwest ready to string you up. I wouldnt know, but I can only assume. I think Grossman plays better this week, but this guy cant do enough right right now to make anyone happy other than maybe Lovie Smith. The cries for Griese will still be here next week.

The Colts defense reminds me of this Grossman situation. They were taking some lumps, but they were doing more than enough to get the job done most of the time. Some close wins, in a society that wants perfection, got some people thinking that these guys could be better if the defense could stop the run. More and more talk of how crappy the run defense is puts more and more pressure on the Colts. Give up one big play and the entire defense is already reading tomorrows headlines. The Colts can thank the media for opening that can of worms. Im sure Rex Grossman will be sending Christmas cards to all of his favorite reporters.

Will Grossman need to play better for the Bears to cover? Absolutely! Will Bulger need to back up his words? Absolutely! So who wins? Theres more to this matchup than meets the eye. Jeff Alexander has gone inside and out every individual matchup and has covered every angle and hes ready to deliver one more time in week 14. Play with the best tonight.

Why Bother Playing the Lottery?

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

The main motives are accessibility, no aptitude is necessary to play, players have minute or no apprehension of corruption, and gamblers can stake tiny amounts. People play in spite of the small payout in comparison to other varieties of betting. However, taking part in the lottery is a cheap way to have a chance of winning big money and turn into a celebrity. If you succeed at a big lottery prize draw, you are placed in the newspapers. The celebrity standing of winners may be a significant quality in persuading play.

The probability of triumph in lotteries do not appear that imperative to players. When discussed, customers do not seem to know the chances or the payout price. Researchers have established that once people deem that a low probability incident can transpire, they are inclined to misjudge the chances of it happening. And a small quantity of people, do win and win huge amounts of cash, while the vast bulk lose money.

Lotteries give a vision of power to some players. Because you can choose your own numbers in some games, you can select your own lucky number. Tabloids feature editorials about how to develop your chances at picking lottery numbers, clearly a desperate hope because the winning numbers are a creation of a unsystematic procedure. Another appeal of the lottery is that people enjoy the non-monetary characteristics of it, including discussions about playing, taking part in the custom weekly ticket acquisition, socializing with friends and co-workers to buy tickets, and fantasising about winning, possibly the number one action amid lottery players.

Betting can be a habit for some gamblers and the consequential costs from these obsessive gamblers is quite considerable. But for the vast majority, the lottery is just a night of fun, with a chance to win a prize.

Fun Casino Night for your Corporate Party

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

Christmas may have passed but many corporations are already booking their spots for the next year’s Christmas party. Your corporate social committee has quite a bit of opportunities to choose from.

Perhaps your group can play bingo, blackjack, or your group can try a round of poker. Dice games can be played at these events as well. The fun casino can be put on for a variety of reasons.

The number one reason to organize and participate in a fun casino event is for fun. However, many corporations may also decide to use parts of the funds made during the casino games in order to benefit a charity.

A fun casino night can take place right at the office. They can represent a variety of fun themes as well. For example, you could have a saloon-style fun casino setting, with a group playing a card game in one corner and anther group playing a dice game. All these winnings can be used to support community organizations, such as ones that help feed the poor or homeless.

Employees who win hands on fun casino nights may receive a prize or part of the cash that they have won from playing games, if real money is used. However, most of the time a fun casino night involves play money. Instead, admission is paid at the door, or the real money is purchased in exchange for the play money.

The reason sometimes play money is being used is because gambling is not legal in all places in the world. Therefore, corporations take measures to make sure that they are protected in a situation as this, and that they remain within the law. Therefore, they may label it as casino night “just for fun” and they are not designed like regular casinos.

Other events may take place at casino nights as well. For example, perhaps a live band will play while people are taking a break from game play. Perhaps a motivational speaker will take time to make a speech to all employees who work in the company.

Awards may also possibly given out on fun casino night, after people have voted for employee of the month, employee of the year, and so on. The main purpose of casino night is largely for enjoyment, and to help employees get to know one another while possibly supporting a worthy cause.

Many fun casino nights can be arranged right at the office. However these nights can also be set up in a live casino. Rooms can be rented for large corporate parties at some casinos, especially where gambling is legal.

In the event a corporation lives in an area where “real” gambling is allowed that employer-as well as employees-to use caution. Gambling can become an addiction which could be very serious. Therefore, employers are encouraged to monitor their employees’ gambling activities if they choose to play for real money.

Corporate itineraries can be set up for employees. Some of these scheduled casino evenings are pre-planned and some of them include activities tailored to a specific organization.

The Chrysler Classic of Greensboro

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

Tiger is going to take some time off. The next time he plays is likely to be the season-ending Tour Championship. More on that later, but dont pay attention.

Id like to take some time off. The question is from what. Lately Ive been a guest on a radio show about soccer, which I follow about as closely as I follow the free-diving hockey in indoor pools circuit. After last weeks show, I think I may be fired, and job security is no joke when youre getting paid, that is. I wont get into the particulars but the discussion during the show, which I wasnt taking much a part in because it was boring, was about how soccer fans are marginalized.

Here I write these weekly bits about golf and I have to listen to soccer fans talk about living on the margin. It may be harder to justify any interest in a sport that routinely features players writhing on the ground in pain only to get up and run around after the affected drama, granted, than it is to justify any interest in a sport in which a player cant hit a shot if a camera shutters during his back swing, but I dont want to attend a griping session on life as a fan on the margin.

In any case, my potential firing from the show is more exciting than maybe it should be because itll mean I can sleep in Monday mornings. Which is important this time of year because football, baseball playoffs, and final rounds make for long hours on Sundays. On the couch. Taking breaks only to check the progress of the chili cooking on the stove.

Tiger won again. Six in a row on the PGA Tour. And he won this one by eight strokes. The only question after he wins the Tour Championship is if the short off-season will squelch his momentum. Dont count on it.

Last week: I won with Tiger. I love it when a long-term plan comes together, if belatedly, to sort of quote Hannibal from the A-Team. (I just Googled A-Team+quotes, which I dont recommend any child of the 80s do if you dont have a couple hours on your hands.) Outright and head-to-head. Unfortunately, the payoff isnt huge because Tiger is someone you might call a favorite. I netted $861.09, or a little less than a unit. That brings my season total to -19 units.

Were winding down 2006. Five tournaments to go before silly season. This is the time of year players on the 125 bubble (to earn a card for next year, players must finish in the top 125 on the money list) have more incentive to, well, make money. Its so they can make more money next year. So, job security is potentially a motivating factor. I both have and dont have such a motivating factor. In years past I think Ive keyed too much on this brand of motivation in these late-season events. Motivating factors dont often amount to much in this sport. Were only two weeks removed from the Ryder Cup, in which I suggested what I thought to be motivating factors for the Americans top two players. Tiger played well, but Phil Mickelson didnt appear to be motivated to balance out a mercurial year that tipped decidedly downward that Sunday at the U.S. Open. So, none of my picks at this weeks Chrysler Classic of Greensboro are going to want for work in 2007. Again, this is not necessarily the case for me.

Take Camilo Villegas (40-1), 1/6 unit: I would say Spiderman is having more than a solid year as a rookie. Were talking hes in the famous almost breakout category, given two second place finishes in a months span at the beginning of the year. Hes had two more top-5s since, the last coming just three weeks ago at the Canadian Open. There have been a handful (if you have a big hand) of MCs and a smaller handful of top-25s. I might add that in a few weeks the aforementioned season-ending Tour Championship will happen. That tournament features the years top 30 on the money list. Villegas is 33 on the money list. But I wouldnt bet on motivating factors.

Take Davis Love III (33-1), 1/6 unit: Its twilight time, I think its safe to say, for Three Shots of Love. A bad back, inconsistency, hasnt won in three years. Bus travel will wear one down, etc. But hes not having a bad year. And hes coming off T40, T34 and a T4 last week. Thats a good direction to be heading in. Incidentally, but certainly not importantly, by any measure, DLIII is currently No. 39 on the money list.

Take Tim Herron (80-1), 1/6 unit: Its hard to figure how Lumpy is currently ranked, um, 30 on the money list, given the fact that hes having a woeful time of it finding fairways, hitting greens and putting. Those are relatively important areas of ones game. But he won a tournament in May—the Colonial. That was a wild ride but he was second in putting average for the week, which goes to show you nothing, really except that occasionally putters get hot and if youre hitting trees on the way to the green, as long as you get there you have a chance.

In the head-to-head, take Love to finish higher than Carl Pettersson (5-6), 1 unit: Because Petterssons 14th on the money list, if you know what I mean.

Boys of Summer spring forward

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

As the Byrds sang and the Bible preaches, to everything there is a season; in the wide world of sports, football’s over and baseball season is almost here again.

Spring training is right around the corner and the Boys of Summer soon will dominate sports headlines.

Like the planet’s seasonal changes, folks feel the transformation as it’s taking place.

“It’s in the air,” Las Vegas Hilton oddsmaker and SuperBook supervisor Jeff Sherman observed.

“You’ll know baseball’s really here when you can read about it on ESPN.com everyday and watch ‘Baseball Tonight.’”

Bookmakers generally advise this is a good time to buy baseball futures, before March Madness crowds pound down the numbers.

“People aren’t quite into baseball yet, but they will be in a few weeks,” New Frontier book boss Tony Nevill said.

“That’s when you get a high concentration of people.

“They’ll be here to bet basketball, but they’ll be looking ahead to baseball.

“All the teams will have had a few outings by then and pitchers will have some innings under their belts.”

World Series futures prices vary from store to store, depending on several things.

That makes shopping and cost comparisons imperative.

One factor in setting prices is opinions of baseball specialists at individual houses.

They either fashion their own numbers or work off a “master” list provided by Las Vegas Sports Consultants, adjusting figures as they see fit.

Nevill notes money moves lines and the area from where a hotel guest hails often influences futures fluctuations as fans bet their hard-earned dollars on hometown teams.

“We get a lot of hotel guests from the Midwest and they bet on Midwestern teams,” Nevill said.

Sure as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West, one such team is the Chicago Cubs.

The Windy City Northsiders are annual liabilties just about everywhere as members of the Cubbie Nation emerge from the country’s four corners to dream, bet and hope anew.

Some trace this widespread popularity to SuperStation WGN making Cubs’ games the first to be aired nationwide when television still was in its youth; those fans of yesteryear are senior citizens now, but bonds to the club are as binding as ever.

What makes this season different from most is there actually is reason to believe, as Ernie Banks might say, that the Cubs will find heaven in 2007.

“I think (.325 lifetime hitter) Alfonso Soriano will be the sparkplug the club needs,” declared LVSC chief Ken White.

“If they can have Kerry Wood in the bullpen, ready to go a couple innings every other day, that would be a huge help,” Nevill added.

Best buy those Cubs futures quickly, though, because prices are falling faster than those on Wal-mart Holiday Barbies the day after Christmas.

Even Nevill was stunned when his computer revealed the naked truth.

“We opened the Cubs at 60/1 and they’re now 6/1,” Nevill said.

“Yeah, you heard right.”

White considered that “much too low,” saying he still could find Cubs futures in the 30/1 to 35/1 range throughout the valley.

Some bet shops hung the long-suffering Chicagoans as high as 75/1.

Bruins futures have been slashed in half at the Hilton.

“We opened them at 30/1 and they’re now 15/1,” Sherman said.

“That’s typical.”

Philadelphia, which narrowly missed out on the ‘06 postseason, also is attracting New Frontier futures attention.

The Phillies boast slugger Ryan Howard and should bolster their mounds corps with the acquisition of ex-White Sox hurler Freddie Garcia.

“I know the computer says the money’s coming in on the Cubs, but it seems like every other futures bet we’re getting is on Philadelphia,” Nevill said.

“We’ve only lowered odds on the Phillies from 18/1 to 15/1, though.

“That should tell you I’m not sold on them.

“They still have to prove themselves to me.”

The New Frontier is in good position with all American League teams, though Nevill’s keeping an eye out for any big or concentrated action on Cleveland.

“We opened the Indians at 35/1, went to 40/1 and then back to 35,” Nevill said.

“I like them a little and don’t want to be caught off-guard.”

Nevill pointed out Califnornia clubs more or less are regarded as local teams and are heavily backed.

“The Dodgers, Angels, Padres … even the G-Men and A’s from up north,” Nevill said.

“The way things are set up, it doesn’t take a whole lot any more to win a division.

“The California teams haven’t drawn much play yet, but that’s probably because their odds weren’t very high to start.”

White and Sherman noticed San Francisco futures plunged when the Giants acquired pitcher Barry Zito from the A’s.

San Francisco opened between 60/1 and 75/1 and currently is in the 25/1 to 35/1 neighborhood, though numbers could rise again if slugger Barry Bonds is indicted.

As usual, the New York Yankees are book favorites in everything, including the ALDS, ACCS and the World Series.

Mike Colbert, the Plaza’s race and sports book manager, agrees the Bronx Bombers should be smashing this season and even stronger if Roger Clemens snags a deal that returns him to the Big Apple.

“They definitely (will) become the team to beat,” Colbert said.

Colbert noted the Plaza had taken more than a fair share of futures wagers on Milwaukee and Colorado at 50/1.

He also echoed Nevill in urging diamond futures players to hustle to betting windows.

“After March Madness is done, baseball heats up,” Colbert said.

“Fans looking for baseball bargains should definitely do it now.”

My Experience with Slot Machine Games

Saturday, April 21st, 2007

My home is only five miles away from an Indian casino that opened twelve years ago. The slot machine games at that time were three line nickel and quarter machines. The Indian casino also had a few dollar slots. The slot machines were all reel slots machine games. This means that you played them by putting in coins one at a time and you will be paid in coins that come out into a tray under the machine.

In the present, some slot machines have as many as 100 lines. It is now possible to play any denomination from one cent to ten dollars. Contemporary slot machine games are now video games and are quite interactive. If you are winning, then these machines will make special sounds. In fact, some of them will even wish you luck when you hit the spin button.

You will receive a printed ticket that can also be inserted into another machine when you win. I noticed that there are still a few reel machines in the casino, but these are being eliminated quickly. However, some people believe that the reel slot machine games had better odds than the video games. Of course, the gaming experts deny that this is true.

There were more blackjack tables than slot machines and the building was little more than a steel shed with carpeting during the casinos early years. There are now over four thousand slot machine games, blackjack tables, poker rooms and a hotel with over six hundred rooms in the Indian casino. Costumers can also enjoy the four restaurants, a coffee shop, candy store and a full spa that have been built in the casino.

The Indian casino management has also decided to add a conference center and auditorium that host many big name concerts through out the year. Over twelve hundred people are presently employed in the casino. The advancements in the video slot machine games are credited as the main reason why the casino has achieved so much in fifteen years.

Bus loads of people frequently come to the casino on charter trips from the five state area. The lives of the Native Americans have greatly improved thanks to the casino. In fact, they have benefited a new school, clinic and a great deal of housing that have been built in the area. Due to the success of the casino, they were able to build a government center and have re-established their tribal courts.

However, many people have complained that they do not pay off well enough at the casino. In their opinion, the slot machine games are set too tight. The gaming commission did sanction them last year for not paying off the proper percentage. Nevertheless, these controversies have not stopped the people from coming.
