Is Online Poker Rigged?

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Online poker is not rigged. The poker sites make their money from the rake not you loosing a hand. With that being said the question you should be asking yourself is what

do I need to watch out for while playing online? There are hackers that claim they have programs that allow them to cheat. But I don’t believe them. If you are being cheated the culprit is most likely another player at the table not the online poker site.

The rake is the money the online poker site collects from the players each hand. It is a percentage of the money that is bet. At most sites there is a cap on the rake, therefore it is in the sites best interest to leave things alone and have many players making mostly normal

small bets. The reason you may see more big hands like a straight flush or four of a kind online is the play online is generally loose especially at low money tables. The more players in a hand means its more likely that a someone will draw a monster hand. Its not the way the program is shuffling the cards.

Hackers that claim they have hacked the poker sites are usually trying to sell you some kind of cheater program. These programs don’t work and are nothing more than a scam. The online poker sites are super secure these days. A reputation of security and fairness equals new customers and cash to a poker site, so they go to great lengths to achieve this.

If you have been cheated online it was most likely wile playing against two or more players that were in collusion. This is when two players secretly communicate with each other about their hole cards and betting strategy. To guard against this watch for players that always play slow before the flop because this is when they are communicating and plotting against you, also look out for a guy that keeps raising and reraising with nothing because he’s trying to jack up the pot for his

partner or push out players that may win. Poker sites watch for players that only play together. The cheaters quickly get spotted by the players or the poker site and are not anything to worry about.

Where there’s money involved there will always be cheaters but online poker is not rigged. Pick an

established poker site to play on and you will be all right. The play online is different then it is at a casino, however you are less likely to be cheated online because no human ever touches the cards. If you spot a cheater always turn them in.

Understanding Online Casino Bonuses

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

A common way for online casino to attract customers is to offer bonuses. Some offer 100, 200 percent or more.

Using these bonuses is a great way to increase your bank and improve your chances of winning, while reducing the risk of losing your own money or at least the amount you lose.

Before depositing your money and playing, beware this so called free money comes with catches.

Understand the minimum wagering requirements. This is the minimum you can bet before cashing out the bonus amount.

For example you deposit $100 and the casino gives a bonus 200% ($200), the online casino states you must wager 10 times the bonus amount, which means you must wager $2000 in order to keep the bonus.

Most casinos will only allow limited games to count toward your minimum wager. These are games that have better house advantage.

The different types of bonus-

The traditional bonus that can be cashed out after meeting wagering requirements, as above. A sticky bonus, the bonus is only for game play and can’t be cashed out. No deposit bonus, simply given for signing up. Either given as sticky or traditional bonus.

A sticky bonus comes in two different forms. One is removed from your account once you withdraw money. The other will remain in your account for game play.

You should bet small and withdraw your money as soon as you meet the wagering requirements. Then move on to the next casino. Don’t get greedy.

Gambling contains a high risk of losing your money, never gamble with money you can’t afford to lose!

Set a limit on what you can gamble and stick to it.

Best of luck.

Dolphins/Steelers Thursday Night NFL Opener

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

Miami travels north to Pittsburgh to meet the defending Super Bowl Champions and to get the 2006 NFL season underway. Ben Roethlisberger’s absence in the starting lineup from an appendix ailment, not a motorcycle crash, has made the season opener a pick ‘em game. Now it will be up to Charlie Batch to spoil Daunte Culpepper’s attempt to get his fresh start off on the right foot.

Batch started 2 of the 4 games that Roethlisberger missed last season, winning both of them despite not throwing a TD pass and not putting up impressive numbers. Culpepper’s apparent full recovery has the Miami faithful confident that their Dolphin’s will make it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2001. Last season, Miami finished with 6 straight wins because of the strong 2-pronged running attack of Ricky Williams and then rookie Ronnie Brown. Culpepper should be the answer to Miami’s non-existent passing attack in 2005, and if he can’t get the job done, they’ll have another shot with former Detroit Lions starter Joey Harrington. The loss of Williams shouldn’t be a factor as increasing Brown’s carries won’t hurt the offense. Overall, the Dolphins should be much improved on the offensive side of the football.

Roethlisberger’s absence will put a lot of pressure on Batch to throw the football well as now coach Nick Saban will likely key on Pittsburgh’s rushing attack led by Willie Parker who rushed for 1,202 yards last season despite losing carries to retired future Hall of Famer Jerome Bettis. Miami will be hoping that newly acquired defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson can couple with Keith Traylor to put a damper on Pittsburgh’s high-powered rushing attack. Miami will be solid up front with Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Taylor and with fellow Pro Bowler Zach Thomas in support.

While Miami’s defense should be solid this season, Pittsburgh returns all but 2 starters on a defensive unit which led the AFC in yards allowed last season. The Pittsburgh defense led by hard-hitting big play safety Troy Polamalu and speedy linebacker Joey Porter will once again be this team’s strong suit. This will be a huge test for Miami and Culpepper right off the bat. With Roethlisberger sidelined for another week or 2, this one looks like a defensive battle. However, I have uncovered which team has the clear edge on the defensive side of the ball in this one and we are ready to cash in big on the 2006 NFL season opener.

Introduction to Blackjack Card Counting

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

Blackjack card counting is the only way to turn the house’s advantage around and in to your favor. When played correctly (using proper basic strategy), a typical casino blackjack game holds less than a 1% advantage for the casino. When you add a good card counting technique to perfect basic strategy, the advantage is no longer with the casino, but with the player.

The reason why card counting works is very simple. The player is more likely to win when there are lots of high cards in the deck and the dealer is more likely to win when there are more low cards in the deck. High cards are good for the player because even if there are very many high cards left in the deck, the dealer still has to hit on hands like 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16. When there are lots of high cards left, the dealer will be busting much more often. High cards are also good for the player because they increase the chances of getting a blackjack. So, in the most basic terms, when the player knows there are lots of high cards left in the deck, he should bet more money and less money when there are fewer high cards left.

As explained above, we don’t really care to keep track of how many of each individual card values are remaining. We only care about the ratio of low cards to high cards. Generally, this is accomplished by counting low cards as +1 and high cards as -1. Each time a card is dealt you either add 1 or subtract 1 from your running count. When the number is high, you know there are more high cards than low cards so you should be betting more money. When the count is low, you should be betting low.

This was just an introduction to card counting. Please see our other articles for different card counting methods. One of the easiest to learn is the Red 7 Count, so be sure to check it out at our website. Remember, card counting is useless unless it is used with proper basic strategy. So, if you haven’t learned it yet, be sure to review our articles on blackjack basic strategy before diving into card counting.

OnLine Slot Myths - Avoid These Common Errors and Win

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

Online slot myths are common and are made by both noivice and experienced players. If of course you can avoid these online slot myths and play with a coll head you can of course make money.

Lets look at these online slot myths why they cause players to lose money and how to avoid them.

The modern slot is a form of computer, and uses a progrm called The Random Number Generator (RNG).

Because most people don’t understand the RNG, and how online slot machines work, several myths exist that that players believe are true. They are not! Here are four of the most common slot myths that can lead you to lose.

1. You have been playing a machine for some time, and someone else just hit a jackpot on it. You “think” had I left playing the jackpot would be mine. Wrong!

As we said, the online slots are run by a computer, and its RNG is calculating numbers whether the machine is played or not, it never stops. If you press play, the RNG just selects a combination at that moment.

Even f you were still playing that slot machine, the RNG would never have arrived at the same combination of numbers as the person who won.

That is why it is called an RNG, and its only just “luck” (for lack of a better word) where a winning combination appears.

2. By counting the symbols on each wheel you can tell the odds of winning. Wrong!

As the RNG will generate a new series of numbers for each spin, these numbers will correspond to the symbols on the wheel. Even though you don’t see them, there can be hundreds of symbols and thus virtual stops on each reel.

The reason that online slot machines can offer such large payouts is only because they generate millions of combinations so the chances of hitting jackpots are low. For example, you notice 15 reels and then calculate the odds as being 15 x 15 x 15 1:3,375.

This is a mistake.

What you don’t see are the virtual stops, and there could be over 100! Therefore, at 100 per reel, it would be 100 x 100 x 100, or odds of 1:1,000,000. If you have ever wondered where the casinos can finance those large jackpots, you now know.

3. The Payout Percentages Are Controled by the Casino. Wrong!

The casino doesn’t have to do anything.

Online slot myths are common and are made by both noivice and experienced players. If of course you can avoid these online slot myths and play with a coll head you can of course make money.

Many slot myhts come from misunderstandings about how the Random Number Gnerator the RBG works so lets look at it in more dtails

Online slot machines payouts are determined by the RNG which has the pay back. percentage pre-dertermined.

These chips are hardwired programmed and can’t be changed. If a casino wanted to change the payback, they would have to replace this chip.

There are however rules and regulations set by the online gaming regulators to prevent this.

The casino doesn’t have to anyway, as the house edge is their profit.

Casinos know they will win. You should check the payback listing before you start playing. Play only those online slot machines with payouts of 95% or higher.

4. These Online Slot Machines Have Not Paid Out Lately – My turn is Next! Wrong!

The RNG insures that each and every spin on any online slot machine is totally random and unrelated to the previous spin o spins.

Also the length of time a slot is played without payout has no influence on next payout. It is a fact that any slot can go months or even years without paying its grand jackpot.

These machines can pay smaller payouts, but these serve only to keep up its payout ratios.

So, now you know the real story about online slots, and why the 4 online slot myths are so common.

The role of the RNG is also known, and therefore the role of ‘Lady Luck’ cannot be underestimated but you can put the odds in your favor by avoiding the online slot myths above and maybe win the elusive jackpot.

The Ambiance of Venice, Italy

Friday, May 25th, 2007

Ahhh, Venice..sounds of Andrea Boccelli resonating from open balcony windows. Two young lovers comfortably embraced while savoring a nice gondola ride through a quaint canal. Couples strolling down the narrow cobblestone streets mano-a-mano. Romance is in the air. And there’s no better place for romance than a trip to Venice.

Venice’s main waterway is the Canale Grande (Grand Canal) which snakes its way through the city for approximately 2 miles. Other canals will feed into and out of this one. The Grand Canal is the “Main Street” of Venice.

A good vantage point to see the Grand Canal and its activity is from the Rialto Bridge (Ponte di Rialto). The Rialto Bridge is one of only three bridges to cross the Grand Canal. The original wooden drawbridge collapsed and was rebuilt a few times culminating with its current day stone structure in the late 1500’s.

Piazza San Marco is really the heart and soul of Venice. This is the main tourist focal point of the city. It is a place where people (and pigeons) congregate to people-watch. The place to be seen sipping some cappuccino or to people-watch outside one of the cafés overlooking the piazza.

On the Eastern side of the Piazza lies the Doge’s Palace (or Palazzo Ducale). This was the seat of the government during the glory years of Venice. Housed inside are artistic treasures and masterpieces by the famous renaissance artists Tintoretto and Veronese, among others.

Next to the Doge’s Palace lies a former prison. From here, prisoners were led across the Bridge of Sighs (or Ponte dei Sospiri), as a final walkway prior to their execution. Today, the bridge is used in another manner young lovers are promised eternal love if they should kiss in a gondola underneath the Bridge of Sighs. I told you Venice was a romantic city! Where else can a grim bridge connotate romance?

Murano glass-making, craftsmanship and artistry that dates back to the 13th century, was originated and perfected in Venice. It is definitely worth it to see these craftsmen at work. They usually have tours where you can see them in action. There are hundreds of shops, particularly on the island of Lido.

A discussion of Venice would not be complete without discussing the pre-Lenten festival of Carnevale. Carnevale, from the Latin meaning “farewell to meat”, is Venice’s version of masquerade balls, costumes, parades, grandiose events, etc. The idea, of course, is similar to the Mardi Gras in New Orleans or the Carnevale of Rio de Janeiro, where Christians celebrate one last “hurrah” prior to Lent.

Another famous Venetian tradition is to visit a “cicchetteria”, a little restaurant-bar establishment usually hidden in many of the alleyways of Venice. On Saturday mornings, prior to lunch, you will see Venetians visiting the “cicchetterie” to sample “gli spuncioni”, or hors d’oeuvre type appetizers. Similar to the tapas used in Spain. Don’t forget to wash it down with some refreshing “cicchetti”, or the local wine (red or white) served in these establishments.

If you like to gamble, Venice has the most renowned casino in all of Italy. There are actually two that operate alternatively at different times of the year. You will usually find one of them open, except for holidays.

Despite the above, Venice is not problem-free. Flooding and polluted canals have been a concern for some time. Some of the world’s brightest engineers have been working on a system to alleviate the “acqua alta”, or flooding that can occur after a heavy rain or during an extraordinarily high tide. Piazza San Marco has been known to be flooded for a few hours at a time. And of course, during the summer tourist season, Venice can become quite crowded. It is best to make your plans well in advance.

However, Venetians are very resilient. The town was basically built by trying to defy Mother Nature’s sea. It is this resilience that has served the people well for many centuries. Venetians are a special breed that live life to the fullest. They are a people that know how to perservere. And persevere they will for many more centuries to come.

A trip to Italy would definitely not be complete without considering Venice on your agenda. It is easily accessible by train (about 4 hours from Florence) or just a quick flight from Rome. Ciao!

Roulette System: How to Master Chaos - Theory to Beat Online Casino Legally

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

This article is going to discuss how Chaos Theory applies to Roulette.

“Looking at roulette chaos is like looking at a raging white-water river filled with wildly tossing waves and unpredictably swirling eddies. But suddenly, in one part of the river, you spot a familiar swirl of current, and for the next five or ten seconds you know the direction the water will move in that section of the river.”

Chaos is everywhere. If you think about it, you arrived at this site because a certain sequence of events took place at just the right time that led you here. Everything is deterministic. What you do next will depend on what you did before. The roulette wheel is not random. It is chaotic! Future spins are determined by past spins. Patterns therefore occur. Find them. Exploit them. Orderly disorder exists. Walk away from the Casino a consistent winner.

The FAST Roulette System is based on the simple fact that there exists predictable patterns within chaotic numbers that seem completely random. R. Lucassen has shown how long-enough sequences of chaotic numbers generate fractals, complex and self-describing patterns which are found everywhere in nature. But let me keep things simple and communicate through examples.

Even though the odds of an individual number coming out on European Roulette is 1 in 37, if you watch 37 spins of the wheel, several numbers will have repeated themselves and several numbers won’t have appeared at all. In fact, before all numbers have appeared at least once, at least one number will have appeared 8 times! Most amazing of all, it does not matter at what point you start tracking the numbers, or if it’s American or European roulette. This is a very bold statement and I insist that you to try it out at any Casino, online or real, before you continue reading as this is the premise of the FAST Roulette System.

Imagine all the events that take place at any given moment in time. They didn’t just happen. Several things had to happen before that led to that event occurring. And several things had to happen, before those several things, that caused them to occur, and so on. Every small event causes a series of chain reactions that produce several other events that, in turn, produce several other events. The wheel is spun at a certain velocity. A roulette ball is dropped at a specific point. The ball stops on a specific number. That, in turn, is the starting point for the next spin. And the pattern repeats itself. This series of events always favors one number in the short run. We have to find that favored number and exploit it. If the roulette wheel was truly random, then it would not be beatable with any device that didn’t affect its outcome. Yet it was.

If you know that a number will come out 8 times before all numbers have come out at least once, then, by keeping track of all previous numbers that will cause that event to occur, you can more accurately choose which numbers to bet on, thereby reducing the probability to below 1/35 of hitting that number. Since Roulette pays you 35 times the amount bet plus the original bet, this will give you an expected return that is positive in the short and long-term, thus allowing you to generate consistent profits.

But why does a number come out 8 times before all numbers have come out once? For the same reason that when it starts to drizzle it takes a while to wet the entire pavement. The drops are supposedly falling randomly, yet they tend to hit in the same spot rather than on dry ground. If you’ve ever observed it, it takes longer to wet the whole ground than you would expect. This is Chaos Theory in action. When applied to Roulette, you get similar results. Most of the times, a number will repeat itself 8 times (rain hitting the same spot) before all numbers have come out once (whole ground getting wet). There is a whole series of events within every spin that will determine, in part, each and every spin that is to follow.

If you observe about 125 spins of the Roulette wheel, you will realize that the distribution of the numbers is not what you would expect considering that the probability of a number coming up is 1/37. Since there is an equal chance of all numbers coming up, you would expect that after about 125 spins all the numbers would have come up about equally or, at the very least, that all numbers would have come up at least once. This is clearly not the case, however. This is not to say that the roulette wheels are necessarily skewed towards any one number. If you take a look at the histograms, you will notice that I won each day on a different number at the same table. Also, if you track the numbers long enough, after thousands of spins, computer-generated or real, all numbers will have come out about equally. Just not in the short run, and this is what the FAST Roulette System takes advantage of. But why not in the short-run? Simply because the more recent an event, the greater its impact on near-future events.

To learn more about my system, please visit my site. I highly recommend that you try it.

Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.

Until then, my friend. I wish you all my best.

League One Betting Review - 23 April 2006

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Southend’s promotion celebrations were postponed after they slipped to a 1-0 home defeat against Doncaster. The Shrimpers needed a win to book a place in the Championship next season but James Coppinger spoiled the party a minute after the break to set up an unexpected 5/1 away win.

Colchester crept into the automatic promotion spot after beating Bournemouth 2-1, their first away win since January. Liam Chilvers put the U’s ahead after five minutes but Stephen Cooke restored parity three minutes later. On loan Scott Vernon’s first goal for the club six minutes into the second half secured a 7/5 win. The result also guarantees Phil Parkinson’s side a play-off place.

Brentford also confirmed their place in the play-offs and left Swindon in a precarious position after a 3-1 win at the County Ground. Paul Brooker drew first blood for the 13/10 Bees after 27 minutes and Marcus Gayle added a second on 39. Aaron Brown pulled a goal back for the Robins after 70 minutes but Callum Willock made sure of the points five minutes later.

Huddersfield were another side which enjoyed a 3-1 away win, but the result sent opponents Walsall crashing out of League One. David Graham gave the Terriers the lead after 25 minutes and Pawel Abbott netted a second with seven minutes remaining. Michael Leary gave the Saddlers hope in stoppage time, but Andy Booth late on confirmed an 11/8 win and relegation for Walsall.

Barnsley clung on to their position in the play-offs with a 1-1 draw at Blackpool. Keigan Parker gave the Tangerines the lead after 21 minutes but Brian Howard ensured a share of the spoils on 53 at 12/5.

Swansea edged back into the play-off places with a 1-1 draw at Oldham. Luke Beckett gave the Latics the lead on the hour from the penalty spot but Kris O’Leary levelled for the Swans eight minutes later for a 12/5 draw.

Nottingham Forest’s run of six consecutive wins came to a dramatic halt as relegation threatened Hartlepool beat them 3-2. Nathan Tyson gave Forest the lead after 15 minutes but Joel Porter equalised on 32. Two quickfire goals from Michael Nelson on 59 and Michael Proctor on the hour secured a precious 9/4 win before Kris Commons gave Forest hope on 67.

MK Dons kept their hopes of League One survival alive with a last-gasp victory at Chesterfield. Clive Platt gave the Dons the lead after 13 minutes but Colin Larkin equalised five minutes after the break. With four minutes remaining, Gareth Edds struck the winner to seal a fourth successive win, this time at odds of 7/4.

Horse Racing Primer

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

Horse racing is a very exciting and lucrative sport. Anyone who hasn’t been to a good track is missing out. Winning lots of money at horse racing is very possible. In fact, it tends to get overlooked in the sports betting world. Think about this. If you were going to wager on a baseball team that was far better than the team it was facing, you might have to lay down $2.50 to $3.00 to win $1. In horse racing, you can often wager on a horse that’s superior to the rest of the field (even a small field) and receive a much better line.

Since this is a primer, let’s talk about the basics of horse racing itself. A horse race can consist of two or more horses. The field, as it is called, varies from race to race. There are three main finishing points in any horse race—Win, Place and Show. Win is of course first place. Second place is called Place and Show is third. These three spots are known as “in the money.” A horse that doesn’t finish in the money is referred to as “also ran.”

Horse racing offers a plethora of wagering options. For instance, one can wager on a horse to win, place and show—also called “across the board”—or any mixture of the three. There are also other wagers, which are called “exotics”. One example of an exotic wager is a Trifecta. A Trifecta wager consists of three horses that will finish in the exact listed order. For example, if a bettor placed a 5-8-1 Trifecta, the 5 horse must finish first, the 8 horse second and the 1 horse third.

Another example of an exotic wager in horse racing, and a popular one, is the Pick 4. Horse racing bettors play Pick 4’s constantly. When a bettor makes a pick 4 wager, he or she is picking the winner in four consecutive races. Winners of the Pick 4 are paid from a pool of wagered money. There’s also a Daily Double, Pick 3 and Pick 6. In the event that there’s no winner, the money is carried over to the next day. This happens often with the Pick 6.

One of the best things I like about horse racing is the quickness of the races. Unlike a baseball game, I don’t have to wait three hours to find out if I won or not. Additionally, unlike other sports, there can be up to hundreds of races on a single day. A typical racetrack will run eight races or more per day. There are many racetracks around the country. There’s a lot more to horse racing, but this primer will start you on the right path.
