A Simple Approach To Online Roulette

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

There are several beatable online casino games. Roulette is not one of them.

In fact, all of the online casinos and sportsbooks need to get it together on their Roulette games, because there isn’t one good game out there.

It’s sad that this needs to be publicly brought to the attention of the gaming industry, but since most players don’t pick up the phone and call their casinos to complain, somebody had to get on the ball with a truthful tell-all.

If you play, you will not win, if you do, count yourself lucky, and take your money and run to another game.

Understand that the game of Roulette has always been a house game. Traditional casinos can realize an advantage of 5.27% to percentages (over 7%) that you do not want to hear!

Online casinos clearly have a much larger advantage. Frankly, it’s the only game in the entire bank of online games that is simply unbeatable. Don’t play it unless you feel the need to really throw your money away.

For every game of skill, you stand a chance in the virtual scheme of things, and for every game of chance, you can demonstrate money management skills to keep your head above water, but not Roulette.

If all the Powers that Be are having the good fortune to read this article , take note: you’ve come a long way baby, but still have a long way to go!

Once you place your bets, the dealer drops the ball in the continuous spinning wheel, then the dealer will call out the specific number and color of where the ball lands.

It’s easy. Here’s how it works right now in online casinos: You cash in for $50.00. You play 5 minutes and don’t win the first bet and then you do it again and you still don’t win a single bet.

This will continue as long as you want to make the donations, it’s the only game that optimism won’t change the outcome until the folks overseas decide to give up some of their Roulette profits.

Until then, the simple approach to Roulette online is: Don’t Play!

Cirque Du Soleil - The New Face Of Las Vegas Entertainment

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Founded in 1984 by two Canadian street performers, Cirque du Soleil (Circus of the Sun) has become the new face of Las Vegas entertainment. Using only human performers, they combine street performance and traditional circus skills with more classical arts such as ballet and opera, backed by live music, to deliver a unique and energetic spectacular each night.

Latest news is that Elvis Presley Enterprises and Cirque du Soleil have reached an agreement with the MGM Mirage Group to create a permanent Elvis Presley show at the CityCenter hotel/casino, currently under construction in Las Vegas. The show is expected to open with the hotel in November 2009. The new 60 storey hotel will stand on 66 acres between the Bellagio and Monte Carlo resorts, and feature a 4,000-room hotel/casino, two 400-room non-gaming hotels, shops, restaurants and entertainment venues.

This new Cirque du Soleil show will bring Elvis back to Las Vegas in a unique way. Guy Laliberte, Founder of Cirque du Soleil, says, “This new creative challenge is exactly what we strive at accomplishing in the development of our new productions. Cirque du Soleil is thrilled to be involved in CityCenter and we are particularly honored to be entrusted with this assignment. We are working closely with our partners to ensure the public will have an unforgettable encounter with the King of Rock and Roll. Elvis had a unique relationship with his adoring fans in Vegas and a large part of our mission is to recreate the excitement and the spirit of joy he generated here.”

This show follows hot on the heels of Cirque’s new show for 2006, Love at The Mirage Hotel, and based on the music of the Beatles. George Harrison brought the idea of a Cirque/Beatles show to Cirque founder Guy Laliberté, and the show uses remastered Abbey Road master tapes to provide the music. Featuring characters from Beatles songs as well as usual Cirque du Soleil spectacle and excess, the show, like most of Cirque’s other Vegas shows, is playing to sold out houses.

Where to find Cirque du Soleil’s shows:

Mystere at Treasure Island Hotel. The original Vegas Cirque show

O at The Bellagio Hotel. Their water-themed spectacular featuring divers, synchronised swimming and more.

Zumanity at New York New York Hotel. Cirque’s adult-themed show.

Ka at MGM Grand Hotel. Featuring martial arts and puppetry.

Love at Mirage Hotel. The Beatles Cirque show.

Paradise Poker Review

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

It’s important for players to read and compare the reviews of various online poker rooms. No one site is the same, so it’ll take some research, along with some trial and error, to discover which online poker room is best for you. Take a moment to consider what you’re looking for in an online poker room. Perhaps you are looking for stiffer competition, smoother game play, or the highest possible signup bonus. Shop around. Figure out what you want from your online poker playing experience, and find the site that best suits your poker needs.

Paradise Poker is an old-school, well-established website that was an early player in the online poker scene. Founded in 1999, Paradise Poker was purchased in October 2004 by Sportingbet, a massive online gambling company based in the UK, for a sum of $347.5 million. Paradise Poker has a ton of players online at any given time, and they also boast high volumes of players that play non-traditional poker games. There are thousands of players available for ring games, and huge tournaments are also pretty standard.

The Paradise Masters is a series of nine events that take place over a period of nine days. There is over $4 million in guaranteed prizes, and the tournament’s main event concludes with a televised display of the final table live in the Bahamas. Paradise Poker also has the million dollar free-roll, which is a tournament that you cannot pay to qualify for. To qualify for this largest freeroll tourney in the world, players must win a series of free satellite tournaments. Paradise Poker also offers guaranteed pot tourneys and qualifiers for the World Series of Poker.

The graphics and overall game play at Paradise Poker are smooth and fluid. At times, especially during tournament play, the software does seem to lag a bit. Still, the note taking, statistics, and lobby information are pretty helpful, and the overall functionality of the site is clean.

Paradise Poker’s signup bonus isn’t all that crazy. Players get a 25 percent cash bonus up to a maximum of $40. There is no time limit for the bonus, but players have to play 500 raked hands to claim the cash. Paradise Poker does not have a player points program, or a loyalty bonus.

Paradise Poker accepts the following deposit options: NetTeller, FirePay, Visa, MasterCard, wire transfer and bank draft. The minimum deposit is $50. Payouts are pretty quick, as is the customer support (although email is the only support option offered).

Paradise Poker is a good place to play a lot of hands, or play at multiple tables simultaneously. The variety of games and tournaments are appealing, as is the service. The site could be a bit more friendly with its bonuses, and as such, this online poker room seems to attract more experienced players. With stern competition, beginners might want to try and practice before going against the players at Paradise Poker.

Strip Poker

Friday, April 25th, 2008

Is gambling better than sex? Some people equate money to power. Money can give you a lot of power. But it can also strip you of the power if you lose it. Some gamblers would rather gamble than have sex. Not me, I want it all.

I have had some of my deepest and most intense orgasms after winning big at a casino or a poker table. There is something about money and sex that go together. Money is quite the aphrodisiac.

The first man I married was over 30 years older than me. I was young and a bit of a bimbo when it came to men. He was a gambler, distinguished and loved Blackjack.

He liked to have me around because I looked good on his arm and I knew how to gamble. It gave us something to talk about. Sex was very plain and we did not have it very often.

But the gambling was sensational!

There is a balance you have to achieve. It’s like most things in life. Too much of the same thing becomes boring. Can you imagine winning every hand of Texas Holdem or Blackjack you played? Can you imagine having sex 24 hours a day? Hell, I’d miss the action in the casino. Just like I’d miss the action in the bedroom if I stayed in the casino 24 hours a day.

I can remember the first time I associated sex with gambling. I was eighteen years old and at my boyfriend Big Mike’s house. We were all alone as his parents had gone out of town to a funeral. We were playing Blackjack for pennies and then Big Mike asked me if I wanted to play strip poker.

I agreed – after all, Big Mike wasn’t called Big Mike for nothing. This was the first and only time I ever cheated at gambling. I was a much better poker player than Big Mike.

But I never won a hand and he had me naked in minutes. What happened next I’ll leave to your imagination.

Some Poker Strategies

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

Poker – today’s most popular card game – has a written history that is as rich as the prize money in winning a World Series tournament. As history evolved, variations of the poker game were introduced. The “Hold Me Darling” card game is now known for its modern name of Texas Hold’em – the most popular poker game. Other poker variations are No Limit/Pot Limit Poker, Fixed Limit Poker, Seven Card Stud Poker, Spread Limit Poker, Omaha Poker, Razz Poker and Pineapple Poker.

Strategies in playing the game were likewise developed and shared among players. Here is a list of some of the strategies being used by poker players.

Treat poker like a long-term investment. Playing a poker is easy to learn but like any other field, mastering the trade needs practice. Understand and have a thorough knowledge of the basic poker strategy. A poker player must know when to call, fold, raise or re-raise, employ pot odds and bet aggressively. With constant practice, a poker player will eventually develop his own advanced strategy. Play a simple poker game. When you know you got the best hands, bet aggressively. Bluffing is good but sometimes, it does not work. After mastering the basic strategy, a poker player has more control on the result of the game. Depending on the current condition of the game, the poker can then deviate from a simple strategy to a more advanced one.

Adapt your moves to the current game. There is no definite rule on how to win a poker game. Poker is a game played under changing strategies and conditions. Playing poker by the book will only reveal moves to the opponent. A poker player must be able to adapt his game to the cards on hand and the situation at play.

Evaluate your previous moves after every play. This will help you understand more what happened during the play, discover the wrong moves and develop a skill or step the next time you are on the same situation.

Know when to quit. It is advised that no one should play poker for more than 10 hours in a day. A poker player must know when to continue playing a losing game or quit while still ahead. When you feel that the decisions you are making are getting worse, quit. Do not gamble more money than you can afford to lose.

Winning a poker game is a product of different moves and strategies. Study, practice and learn from the professional poker players. It does not necessarily mean you should move and act like them. Developing your own unique sets of strategies in every game will give you advantage over your opponents who cannot predict what your next move is.

Betting Trends

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

I like match-ups and situational handicapping. This includes such things as strengths against weaknesses, bad lines, homecoming and revenge spots. I’m not big into betting trends. Trends can be dangerous. Some novice sports bettors think, “This team has lost 3 straight against the number, that means they’re more likely to cover this game.” Well, you had better have more reasons on your side to back a team than just something like that.

For instance, Fresno State went into the Hawaii game two weeks ago as a home dog. Fresno hadn’t covered since late last season. Anyone who looks at trends might think that Fresno HAS to cover this game, as they are due for a cover. Well that kind of simplistic thinking doesn’t cut it in the competitive world of sports handicapping.

For the record, Fresno got bombed again, 68-37 as a +3 home dog. That made them 0-6 against the spread this season. All right, so maybe the next game they will cover, right? Now they are REALLY due! Well the due factor is still going strong as Fresno failed to cover again, this time as a +31 dog at La Tech, a 38-6 defeat. OK, so they are getting close, but try telling that to the man at the betting window while you wave a losing ticket in his face. It ain’t gonna cut it!

I would suggest focusing more on match-ups and such things as home/road play, and current play, rather than to look at a trend. For instance, on Sunday in the NFL I had a play on the visiting Atlanta Falcons at Cincinnati. In my analysis I noted, “This game all comes down to who rules in the trenches. Atlanta owns a league leading 6.1 yards per rush, while second place is a distant 5.2 with the Eagles. Simply put the Falcons run the ball on everyone.

They have surpassed 220 rushing yards in 4 of 6 games. Cincinnati on the other hand allows 4.6 yards per carry, well above the league average of 4.0. Therefore I expect the Falcons to control the clock and have great success moving the football. Cincinnati is thought to have an explosive offense, but this year that isn’t the case. The Bengals are averaging 5.1 yards per play, right in line with a league wide 5.1 ypp average. Atlanta comes in at 5.5 yards per play on offense.

The Bengals have really fallen on hard times offensively as of late. In the last three games they have scored 17, 13 and 13 points. What makes these numbers even stranger is that Carson Palmer hasn’t been picked off in any of the last three games. In fact, they only have two total turnovers in those games. So it’s not like mistakes are keeping them out of the end zone.” Atlanta has the personnel to give the Bengal offense trouble, and they should have a big day running the football.” Cincy not only covered but won the game.

See what I was looking at? First, see what I wasn’t looking at: No trends! Second, I examined how the Bengals have been playing of late, the mismatch on the ground that favored the visitors, and public perception that Cincy is an explosive offense. Cold, hard facts, to me, are more important than any wagering trend or the “overdue factor.”

That’s the catch for trend bettors: WHEN will this trend happen? It’s impossible to say based solely on the overdue trend factor. Successful sports handicapping encompasses so many factors. It’s much wiser to look at as many factors as possible, such as home field, weather, playing surface, coaching, strength versus weaknesses and revenge spots. Winning ATS is about sifting through all the pieces and finding several edges in a game, not just one angle.

Pot Odds: When To Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

Pot odds are just what they claim – odds. It is important to remember that you do not have to be a mathematician to figure out the odds in a pot. You do not have to sit there with a calculator and find ratios and probabilities. Finding the pot odds simply means to figure out your money invested + the money in the pot = whether you should call of fold. It is a cost-benefit analysis you must undertake to deduce the result you are looking for. In this sense, there will be situations where you would normally fold, based on the strength of you hand or your read on the other player (s) , but because you have calculated the pot odds you have to call.

Pot odds can help you to win hands you normally would have folded or in the perfect dichotomy fold hands that you are not going to make a sufficient profit. Take for example you are in a hand where you hold medium pair with a fairly strong kicker. Lets say you have Jack Ten and the community is 8 4 10 2 K, you are in the hand with two other people. You have invested 50 dollars and the pot is 175. The final bet on the river made by the first position is 30 dollars and this forces the second opponent to fold. The move is yours do you call or fold? Calculating the odds, as I said before, is not rocket science. You have invested a substantial amount furthermore, the pot is quite large compared to the miniscule bet on the river. Now this is where it gets tricky. As in all poker plays there are a infinite number of variables you must consider before making your decision. I cannot possibly cover all of these variables unless I was there in the hand and had seen the progression. However, some things to keep in mind are; do you know how this player, making the bet, plays? Did he bet out strong at the beginning? Do you believe he is playing a strong hand or trying to steal the pot? Did he check the flop? the turn? As you can see variables exist to help your decision, nevertheless in these circumstances you would more than not have to call whether or not you believe you are the winner – the odds are with you.

Now do not mistake this method with the assumption that any money you invest into a pot justifies your calling until the end. This is not the case. In fact, using this odds system can tell you to fold more than it will tell you when to call. This system will best benefit the amateur player by showing him/her when it is time to let go – based solely on the odds. And please do not confuse “odds” with your odds to win, this is a common misconception. The odds merely state how much money is in the pot + how much you invested. For instance, you hold King Queen and you call a 10 dollar raise pre-flop. There are 3 players in the hand. The flop comes 4 4 J and there is a 20 dollar bet made to you. Two players call the bet and it is up to you to make your decision. This seems like an easy fold but one would be surprised how overrated high face cards are. If you look at the pot odds you have only invested 15 dollars assuming you are playing 5/10. In this situation with very little hope of improving your hand your job would be to fold.

Common sense or a proven method to making money? Keep in mind that all of these methods and tips are provided to make you a conservative money maker – no relation to Chris (him and Rainer should start a Losers R Us social club). All of the information I provide is not to make your playing experience more fun, it is not to make your poker playing experience more enjoyable. It is simply to make you money and do so on a consistent basis. A real professional takes a hit and gets up dusts himself off and walks back to the table the next day. This profession is definitely not for everybody.

Gambling And The 20th Century Rulers Part 2

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Adolph Hitler (1889-1945) Adolph Hitler (Schicklgruber) was born on the 20th of April, 1889, in a small town of Braunau on the border of Austria and Germany. The phenomenon of Hitler is still under study by historians and politicians but there are still a lot more questions than answers to them. Really, political feeling, iron will, rare talent of an orator-demagogue, finally, need on the part of the hosts of Germany – all this helped him make himself a breath-taking career. Starting with a might-have-been artist and resigned soldier of the First World War to Fuhrer of the Third Reich and organizer of Holocaust. The history testifies that the bloodiest tyrant of the 20th century was an extremely venturesome gambler, but like Lenin, only in politics. Though Hitler was more loyal to gambling industry than a lot more of his other companions-in-arms.

In Fascist Germany officer casinos were very popular. However, a few people know that in those casinos people did not play but simply had a rest from everyday military fuss. There was a bar, billiards, music in casinos – a close club for officers in a way. Access to such establishments for outsiders was forbidden, and if officers played cards, then only for each other’s money – it was forbidden to organize games and gain profit for them.

Hitler was a frequent visitor of such casinos, moreover, during the war on the occupied territories, it was he who allowed arranging casinos for a rest, in which officers of the German army usually played different card games. In such entertainment establishments the most beautiful girls of the captured towns and villages “worked”.

When Adolph came to power in 1933 there were already no gambling-houses in the country. All of them were closed down still in 1872 under the Kaiser Wilhelm I. One of the first decrees in addition to the law about special authority entrusting Adolph Hitler with unrestricted power in the country, was the decree about permission, as exclusion, of operation on the territory of Germany of the most famous casino in Baden-Baden. It happened in many aspects due to the fact that the country urgently needed money, and Hitler marked for himself that Germans had better lost their money in Germany than in neutral Switzerland. A little later, in particular in 1938, when Germany captured Austria and German legislation started to be legal on its territory prohibiting activities on organization of games and bets, casinos were closed there as well. However, there was an exclusion made for one gambling-house situated in the town of Baden, 26 kilometers from Vienna. On the 30th of April Hitler committed suicide like a real “keen player” of boulevard novels, having lost all his wealth, and at night, on the 9th of May, 1945, in Berlin complete and unconditional surrender of Fascist Germany was signed. Where do you think it took place? In the capital district of Karlshorst in the building of the previous officer casino…

Benito Mussolini (1883-1945) Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini was born on the 29th of July, 1883, in a small Italian town of Dovia. The most well-known Italian statesman of the 20th century, chief (duche) of the Fascist party of Italy. Having realized “a crusade to Rome” on the 28th of October, 1922, Mussolini captured power in the country and on the 1st of November, 1922, headed the government of Italy.

Mussolini was a rather venturesome person, but preferred political games and wanted to play them only in accordance with the rules invented by him personally. These rules were quite cruel, and those who refused to follow them, Mussolini threw away as as not wanted from his life. Similarly to Adolph Hitler, his main virtue which helped him to achieve self-actualization on the arena of politics, were his oratorical abilities, charisma and skills to show himself to the audience. Alas, unfortunately for Italians of those years, great Duche produced his endorphins not at the card table, but in constant unrestrained desire to possess absolute power over everything and everybody. Having come to power, the first thing of Mussolini to do was to take under control, exile and subject to repressions leaders of the opposition.

The founder of Italian fascism had a rather negative attitude towards gambling industry. On the 16th of July, 1923, Mussolini banned gambling games in Italy except for lotteries. In 1926 Mussolini destroyed the remnants of opposition: there were laws adopted according to which all the political parties, except for the fascist one, were banned and dissolved.

However, Mussolini was a far-sighted politician and understood rather well that Italians could not do without gambling games, they would surely get to them – they would go to France, Monaco or Switzerland. He was aware that prohibition of games had a negative impact not only on his personal popularity, as well as on the well-being of the “weak” national economy. Mussolini made a significant for gambling industry decision. Henceforth casinos were to “cover” the borders of the Italian state hindering from export of monetary resources abroad. In 1927 gamble was officially allowed in in San-Remo. Casino was made the property of municipality of San-Remo, and its management was only carried out by the most loyal to the dictator people.

Italian authorities behaved very consistently and decisively, having allowed organizing of only one casino, they refused to any other requests about a possibility of organization of gambling-houses.

Mussolini declared that gambling industry in Italy was prohibited, existence of a casino in San-Remo was an exclusion which was presupposed by serious political and economic factors, however, the given exclusion only confirmed the general rule. The intention of the dictator was to turn the town of San-Remo into another Monte Carlo, but the dream never came true. Despite his declaration on prohibition of opening of new casinos, Mussolini changed his decision to some extent as the time went by. During his rule two more casinos appeared. In 1933 there was opened a gambling-house in the Italian enclave Campion created still in 1917. And in 1937 gambling was allowed in Venice. All the casinos belonged to the municipalities of the corresponding towns. Games were only stopped there during the Second World War.

In 1943 previous associates foreseeing the military collapse of Italy, “put” Mussolini on the retired list. However, he didn’t give in, and as a most venturesome gambler tried to win back with Hitler’s help, still being the head of the fascist puppet government in the town of Salo for some time. However, the system he had been building for 20 years, fell apart within a few months. Cliché of a gambler let him down at that moment. Mussolini didn’t bring himself to put a pistol to head. In 1945 he was captured by Italian partisans and executed, and after a year, in 1946, gambling industry returned to Italy again, and casinos opened their doors which Mussolini was no longer able to enter.

How to Play Bingo

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

Bingo is like a lottery - it is a game of luck. Further, learning how to play Bingo is both easy and fun. There are lots of variations in the way that Bingo is played and learning how to play Bingo and all of its variants can prove to be an exciting pastime; one with many different prizes at stake. However, the basic principles remain the same and you will discover that while learning how to play Bingo, all of the principles apply to the all important Bingo card.

The Bingo card is printed with its own unique grid of numbers, usually ranging from 1 up to 90, and is arranged in columns and rows. There is a caller who calls the randomly selected numbers for the players to mark off their card. It will be decided before the game begins what pattern of numbers are needed to win. For example, the player may need to get every number on their card, known as a full house; or a row or column, or perhaps two rows, etc.

Bingo originated from a game called Beano; so called because players covered up the numbers on their cards with beans. Nowadays players commonly use what is known as a dauber or dabber to mark their numbers. These are often fluorescent in color so that when playing in a darkened hall they can still be seen.

Bingo can be found in different types of venues ranging from casinos to arcades and village halls. In America, Bingo is often played in halls run by church or charity organizations. If you would love to stay at home and play Bingo it can even be played on the Internet!

There are many people who like to add to the excitement and play more than one Bingo card at a time. Be warned, this is not as easy as it sounds! Playing Bingo does involve some skill as well as a lot of luck. The callers shout each number in quick succession, often within seconds of each other. You have to be very fast with your eyes and your fingers to keep up, and there is little time to ponder. It is not for the faint-hearted!

If you prefer to play a safer version, online Bingo may well be worth considering. The player is given some random cards generated by the computer, and there is often a facility for using an ‘auto-dauber’. This is where the computer marks your cards for you, so it doesn’t matter if you miss a number or two. The computer will even call ‘Bingo!’ for you if you are lucky enough to win!
